Handrail for Wheelchair Access Ramp

Our Key Clamp handrail kits are a fantastic way to ensure truly safe access in a number of areas, and we were proud to be able work with this school in Widnes, enabling a child in a wheelchair to take part in their school play.

The Problem

We were approached by the school, who were seeking a safe and effective handrail and ramp solution for the set of their next school play. The ramp was intended to allow wheelchair access for one of their students, so they could safely and easily take part in the show.

The Solution

Our free design service was crucial for this project, as it allowed our design experts and the customer to work together to design a ramp and handrail kit that would ensure totally safe access in a way that would not interfere with the set.

To ensure complete safety, we built a test ramp and handrail in our factory and refined the design to maximise stability and elevation.  Once the design was finalised, we then broke it down into kit form and shipped it to the school.

The Result

The kit was received within 2 days, and the simplicity of our Key Clamps – which require just a single Allen key to put together with the steel tubes – meant the handrail was in place well before the show.

As you can see, the set looks fantastic, and the ramp works brilliantly. Every child deserves to be able to enjoy their school years, and we were glad to play a small part in ensuring this particular child could play a starring role.
