Step-Over Kit Options and How to Choose

There are three ways to get a step-over, depending on the obstacle and the site.

• Standard step-over kits: handrailed kits in five heights from 600mm to 1400mm, 1000mm wide, freestanding or fixed, for pipework, plant and roof level changes. Listed to BS EN 14122 Part 3.
• Mini step-over kits: for cable trays, low pipework and trip hazards, with 200mm or 400mm clearance, freestanding or fixed.
• Bespoke step-overs: designed around tall obstacles, tight gaps, level changes and metal roofs, built from parts held in stock, with a free design service.

To choose, measure the height and width of the obstacle and the space either side of it. If a standard height clears it, a kit is the quickest option. If the obstacle is low, a mini step-over is enough. If the roof changes level or the gap is tight, send us a sketch or photo and our free design service will draw up a bespoke step-over, with a quote within one hour.
