Fisher Alvin was approached by a customer for a simple and effective solution for feeding birds in an aviary.
The Problem
The customer got in touch via our website, seeking an access solution for safely feeding their birds which were kept in an aviary.
The customer sent a drawing through which included dimensions. The system was definitely viable, however, there was an issue with limited space around the aviary. The design would also need to overcome several obstacles to allow safe access.
On top of this, the client specifically requested GRP treads in place of galvanised treads, and the system had to be in place by the summer holidays, which placed additional time pressure on the project.
The Solution
This was an interesting project, and we had fantastic support from our technical team to design and build a bespoke platform to the customer’s requirements.
After a bit of back and forth with the customer to nail down the design, we received approval to start production.
The final product was a highly effective Step-Over Platform, bespoke-designed to the customer’s needs, allowing safe access for feeding birds in the aviary whilst easily overcoming the surrounding obstacles and limited space.
The Result
Once we received approval, we set to work. The client received the platform for installation in early August, just in time for the summer holidays.
After installation, the client contacted us to let us know that the platform was perfect and that it fit perfectly, making the feeding process far safer and more efficient.
We regularly design and supply bespoke access and step-over platforms for a range of uses. Whether it’s overcoming objects on roofs or feeding birds, we can supply the best platform for you. Just get in touch!
