Mezzanine Pallet Gates: Load at the Edge Without Opening It

A mezzanine pallet gate lets you move goods up to or down from a mezzanine or raised working surface without ever leaving the edge open. One side of the gate is always closed, so the opening stays guarded throughout loading and unloading. Our pallet gates are counterbalanced for a positive open and close action, built from tubular fittings with no welded parts, and fit onto existing mezzanine guardrail without welding.

Sizes are the maximum pallet each model accepts, from the product listings. Measure your largest pallet including the load, and every gate is adjustable in width to suit the opening.

How a Pallet Gate Works

A pallet gate has two sides: one facing the loading position at the mezzanine edge, one facing the working area behind it. When the edge side is open to let a pallet in or out, the working side is closed, and the other way round. One side of the opening stays protected at all times, so the edge is guarded throughout loading and unloading.

That is what separates a purpose-built pallet gate from a standard swing gate, a removable rail or a chain. Those rely on someone remembering to put the protection back. A pallet gate never leaves the opening unprotected in the first place.

The gate is counterbalanced, which gives a positive open and close action and makes it easier to operate. It has a minimal number of moving parts, which keeps maintenance down.

How to Choose a Pallet Gate

1. Pallet height. Up to 1.6m, the standard model. Up to 1.8m, the narrow frame model. Up to 2.2m, the tall pallet model. Up to 2.5m, the model with weights.
2. Pallet footprint. The standard, narrow frame and tall pallet models take pallets up to 1.4m x 1.48m. For wider loads, the extra wide model takes up to 1.4m x 1.9m and the model with weights up to 1.5m x 2.0m.
3. Finish. Galvanised steel, or powder coated where the gate needs to be seen, on the standard, narrow frame and tall pallet models. The extra wide model is aluminium. The model with weights is galvanised.
4. The opening and the guardrail. Measure the opening in the guardrail and tell us the guardrail type and tube size, so we can supply the right fittings.

Built to Take Knocks and Keep Working

A loading gate on a mezzanine gets used all day, every day, and gets knocked by pallets and forklifts. The range is built for that.

• No welded parts. The gates are built using tubular fittings, so a damaged part can be repaired rather than the whole gate replaced, and the gate kept in use.

Fitting a Pallet Gate

Pallet gates are designed to be fitted to new guardrail or retro-fitted to existing mezzanine guardrail and barriers, on site, without any welding. Gates are supplied part assembled. Before you order:

1. Measure the opening in the guardrail where the gate will sit.
2. Measure your largest pallet, height, width and depth, including the load.
3. Check what the gate fixes to. Tell us the guardrail type and tube size so we can supply the right fittings.
4. Allow for the width adjustment. The gates adjust in width to suit the opening.

If the guardrail around the opening needs extending or replacing, build it from key clamp fittings and galvanised tube, which we cut to length free. Key clamps tighten onto the tube with a hex key, with no welding.
